Ale Moglia ETF2018-as előadásában már szóba került a közvetlen fűtésű csövek névlegesnél alacsonyabb fűtőfeszültséggel való üzemeltetése "éheztetése". Erről az érdekes jelenségről illetve üzemmódról szól az alábbi cikk. Az eredeti elérhető itt.

Az egyik érdekes hatás, amivel találkoztam, a közvetlenül fűtött triódák csökkentett fűtő feszültséggel történő működtetésekor - éheztetett üzem - tapasztalható jelenség volt. Mint kiderült, ez drasztikusan csökkenti az eszközben keletkező torzítást. Úgy tűnik, hogy ez a hatás a közvetlenül fűtött csövek minden fajtájnál föllép, a tápcsövektől a kis jelű csöveken át az "akkumulátoros" üzemre tervezett csövekig. A jelenség a későbbiekben bemutatott okok miatt kis jelű alkalmazásoknál kiaknázható, nagy áramú alkalmazásokban nehezebben kihasználható.

Ez a hatás egyenáramú és váltóáramú fűtésnél is föllép, és nem túlzottan érzékeny a feszültségre. A táblázat egy 1U4-es akkumulátoros fűtésű cső adatait tartalmazza az izzószál feszültségének változtatásakor. A kimeneti szint 20 vrms.

 
A jelenség feszültség függése – Harmonikus komponensek
 
z egyik lehetséges probléma ennek az effektusnak az alkalmazásakor a második harmonikus komponens potenciális eltűnése a többi harmonikus komponens rovására. Ez azonban nem feltétlenül történik meg. Az alábbi diagramon egy egzotikus, de azért elérhető 6B4 "kis jelű cső" görbéi láthatóak. Megfigyelhető, hogy a magasabb rendű komponensek még jobban csökkennek, mint a második felharmonikus, egészen addig, amíg nagyon alacsony nem lesz a fűtő feszültség.

A hatás magyarázata Annak érdekében, hogy megértsem, mi történik, egy karakterisztika rajzolót használtam a cső jellemzőinek méréséhez. Teszteszközként a 01A-t használtam, mivel ez az cső jellemző tagja az osztálynak. A bemutatott görbéket úgy kaptuk meg, hogy a mért adatokat a görbékről leolvasva, azokat beírtuk egy Excel táblázatba. (Volt egy korábbi verzió, amit feltettem a weboldalra, ami a nyomkövetések "képe" volt. Elég csúnya volt, hogy a most látható formátumban újra megcsináljam). Az alábbi görbéket a rácsfeszültség 2V-os lépéseinként használnak. A 0, -10 és -20 voltos rács feszültségek piros színnel ábrázoltak meg a jobb áttekinthetőség érdekében.

Ez NAGYON érdekes. Az "éhezett" állapot széles tartományt foglal magában, ahol a mu, a transzkonduktivitás és az rp ellenállás lényegében állandó a terhelés széles tartományában... A "normál" jellemzőknél az ismerős "rp ellenállás változó és gm változik, de a mu állandó". Az "éheztetett" karakterisztikák egyértelműen az anódáram változásának "ellaposodását" mutatják (az "éheztetés" miatt), de jól látható az állandó gm és konstans mu tartománya is. A jellemzők "ellaposodása" azt is jelenti, hogy ezt a hatást nehezebb lenne megvalósítani teljesítményerősítő helyzetben. Ennek a csőnek az "katalógus adatai": rp=10k, gm=0,8mS, mu=8. A fenti jelleggörbékből leolvasva az értékeket az adatlap által javasolt munkapont közelében, azt kapom, hogy rp=8,8k, gm=0,95mS, mu=7,5. Az "éhezett" fűtőszállal mért értékeket leolvasva, ismét ugyanazon működési pont közelében, az értékek rp=13,5k, gm=0,63mS, mu=8,5. Egy valós áramkörben mérhető növekedés tapasztalható az áramkör erősítésben, amikor a fűtőszál feszültsége csökken, összhangban a jelleg görbékkel. A nagy különbség azonban továbbra is az a széles tartomány, amelyen belül a csőparaméterek lényegében állandóak. Tehát talán megmagyaráztuk a rejtélyt; az izzószál "éheztetésével" a DHT-eszközökben a cső karakterisztikája nemcsak állandó mu-t, hanem állandó gm-t és állandó rp-t is mutat, így lényegében megszűnik az összes torzítást okozó mechanizmus. Mellesleg "élettartam" teszteltem egy 1U5-öt, ami "éhezett" fűtéssel működik, hogy megbizonyosodjak arról, hogy a "katód tértöltése" nem tűnik el, és ez a hatás a cső élettartamának csökkenése nélkül kiaknázható. Bár ez általában sok időt emészt fel, előzetes adatok szerint (eddig valamivel több mint 2 hét után), sem az éheztetett üzemmódú csőnél, sem az egyidejűleg tesztelt "normál üzemű" (kontroll) 1U5-nél nem volt romlás a transzkonduktivitásban...
